If interested in serving your community while working at a rewarding career, you belong here.Under general supervision, acts as liaison between the CSB and psychiatric facilities as an advocate for persons served and their families involved in the discharge and civil commitment processes. Provides assessment of persons needs and matches them with community resources. Organizes and mobilizes community resources to meet person's needs. This individual participates as an active member of state facility treatment teams. Monitors persons served and consults on individuals as needed. Provides case management in the community for individuals adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. This position requires obtaining and maintaining state prescreening certification and conducts pre-screening assessments for admission or recertification to psychiatric facilities. Maintains clinical charts and performs other routine administrative functions. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, persons served families, public, and services providers. This position will work and assist with the Reinvestment Project as directed.RequirementsRequired Education and/or Experience:Master's degree in Human Services and registration with the appropriate Board in the Commonwealth to become a 'resident' or 'supervisee' working toward professional licensure. Certification as a Virginia Pre-screening Evaluator (or ability to obtain that Certification within three (3) months of hire) and 1 to 2 years of experience in the provision of community and/or hospital based behavioral health services serving individuals with serious mental illness. Must meet the requirements set for qualified case managers (knowledge, skills and abilities) as defined in DBHDS licensure rules for case management services. Preferred:Professional license as Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or other license acceptable in the Commonwealth to qualify as a Medicaid reimburseable Certified Prescreening Evaluator. Knowledge and experience developing and monitoring conditional release plans for NGRI acquittees.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust possess a valid Virginia Driver's License. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter as required by licensing authority. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications. Must complete current Agency behavior management training (TOVA,). Must maintain all additional trainings and credentials as required by regulatory, licensing, and payer entities.
