Registered Pharmacist - HospitalDepartment/Location: Pharmacy Reports to: Director of Pharmacy, Assistant Director of Pharmacy Position Summary The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients. Under the guidance of the Pharmacy leadership team, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, ensure patient safety, and improve patient outcomes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Medication Distribution and Preparation:
  • Accurately dispense medications and prepare sterile products.
  • Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage drug shortages.
Patient Care:
  • Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries from healthcare providers and patients.
  • Identify and address potential drug interactions and adverse drug reactions.
Pharmacy Operations:
  • Assist in managing pharmacy operations, including workflow optimization and staff training.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy.
  • Mentor and supervise pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current New York State Pharmacy License.
  • Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation program.
