We are currently looking for a Dietary Aide to join our team and help create a dining experience that nurtures both body and soul.As a Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that residents enjoy their dining experience by providing courteous, attentive, and professional service. We have an in-house restaurant, The Gillman, and lounge, the 1884, where we provide sit down and take out service from lunch and dinner. Your day to day responsibilities will include tasks like helping residents with menu selections, setting tables, bussing table throughout service, and serving meals in a friendly and time-efficient manner. During meal service you will take meal orders with a calm and positive attitude, address resident inquiries making special accommodations as needed. You will also use your attention to detail skills ensure that food is served according to the resident's preferences and nutritional needs. As a Server in The Gillman you'll work as part of a team to ensure high service standards, and model the organization's values. As a member of the Hospitality department, you will work with fellow Server, Lead Server, Cooks, Dishwashers, and report to our Front of House Manager and Director of Hospitality.What You Will Do:
- Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order
- Correctly and efficiently serve meals to residents, employees or guests in designated areas
- Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously
- Answer pertinent questions about menu items, and make suggestions and accommodations as requested
- Be familiar with residents' diets and personal food preferences
- Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, and assist with washing and distribution clean dishes as needed
- Assist in maintaining an exceptional high level of customer service for our residents and their guests
- Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in work areas, including the proper removal and disposal of all garbage and waste
- Maintain personal cleanliness and practice proper sanitation techniques at all times
- Complete all pre-service and post service side work as assigned or requested
What You Will Bring:
- Required minimum of 1-3 years experience working in hospitality service
- Required minimum of 1 year experience working as a server for a sit down restaurant or facility
- High School or GED
- Ability to build connections and keep a professional manner
- Front of house service skills
- Ability to interpret and explain menu items
- Strong customer service skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask
- Teamwork and ability to work independently
