Job DescriptionThe Host/Cashier is primarily responsible for representing the brand of the venue while greeting and seating guests and assisting service staff with guest contact and table information. All duties are to be performed following departmental policies, practices, and procedures.Position Status: Part-TimeLocation: Gold Strike Casino Resorts - Tunica, MSResponsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet guests when they enter the outlet, determine what comps, points, or awards guests have, and finally complete the payment transaction through the POS system.
- Determine the size of the party and any special seating needs, and work with their team to locate and assist guests to their seating/table.
- Thank guests as they exit the buffet and assist with any final guest needs or questions.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area including the cashier box, dining room, and service stations.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) year of experience in a restaurant as a Host and/or Cashier.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting, a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, climb, crawl, kneel, crouch, balance, etc. for extended periods.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
- Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
