The right Host Engagement & Communications Manager checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.This role exists to assist our organization in creating and maintaining a positive work environment where Hosts feel valued, motivated, connected, and engaged. The Engagement & Communications Manager will design and implement Host engagement programs using data from engagement surveys. Host engagement programs may include but are not limited to events, workshops, and recognition initiatives. The Engagement & Communications Manager will drive effective communication by keeping Hosts informed by leveraging various communication channels. Success and effectiveness will be measured through survey results, engagement, and retention of Hosts.This role also provides supervision to staff. The ideal candidate will drive Host engagement and retention efforts and ensure exceptional Host experience initiatives through inventiveness, imagination, and resourcefulness. - Build an employee-centric workplace culture that puts employee engagement, well-being, and feedback as the top priority
- Analyze data related to Host engagement and retention to create actionable recommendations for continuous improvement
- Creatively implement effective engagement solutions
- Drive and implement effective communication strategies that build employee loyalty programs and brand awareness
- Develop programs and strategies to foster heightened engagement and a positive work environment to ensure employee engagement
- Oversee communication programs, both internal and external, that effectively describe and promote the organization and its hiring and retention efforts
- Research and secure venues, plan and manage our events calendar, negotiate quotes and agreements with vendors, assist with event marketing, monitor timeframes and budgets, network, and deliver on event brief objectives
- Manage and oversee the employee recognition program, and organize employee special events, such as team building, leadership events, holiday events, company outings, and more
- Provide supervision to communications staff
- Assemble creative and innovative event attractions based on internal capabilities or outsourced to qualified vendors
- Develop and manage all Host appreciation events at all properties
- Prepare presentations and/or speeches geared toward employee engagement
- Create, develop, and implement event plans and concepts
- Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans, and objectives and within approved plans
- Oversight of print and online advertising, website management and content development, press releases, corporate videos, and marketing collateral
- Supervise, train, and collaborate with event staff, to solicit and book banquet and catering functions as well as the planning, merchandising, and execution of the functions
- Update senior management, develop event feedback surveys, and create post-event reports and branded newsletter content
- Develop and manage companywide events calendar for all Host events such as Moments of Truth, Share-It-Forward, Blue Ribbon Awards, and President Team initiatives
- Manage and supervise Leadership U events provided to leaders across all properties
- Must utilize technology solutions for project management
- Provide leadership to the HR teams
- Routinely serve as the Person in Charge of HR Operations
- Must be a confident communicator and presenter
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, and professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including the ability to present concepts verbally
- Must have a proven track record of strong people management skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Superior project management and time management skills
- Must have a wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- Self-motivation coupled with a positive and professional approach to management is imperative
- Oversee all internal and external communications for the HR department, ensuring its message is consistent and engaging
- Budget development and cost tracking
- Drive and implement effective communication strategies that build employee loyalty programs and brand awareness
- Supervise the Communications Team
- Work with the marketing department to generate new ideas and strategies
- Must have experience with multi-media and the ability to oversee video and photography specialists
- Ability to write content outlines is a plus
- Ability to write scripts and develop detailed storyboards to accurately capture our brand message in multiple forms of media

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (public relations, communications, or hospitality) preferred
- Project management experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or Society for Human Resource Management Professional Certification (SHRM-CP) preferred
- Prior experience producing, managing, or directing large-scale events is required
- Must have strong leadership skills, be highly organized, with strong time management and interpersonal skills
- Must have a strong understanding of risk management, resourcefulness, and problem solving
