As a host/hostess, you are the first point of contact for guests. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing waitlists, and accurately quoting wait times.Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, creating a positive first impression. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Answer incoming phone calls; take and fill to-go and curbside orders; clean, organize and stock menus; and perform other assigned side work.
- Track table status and manage the seating chart, to ensure efficient and balanced table assignments. Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
- Take names and phone numbers for the waiting list and quote accurate wait times to guests when tables are not immediately available.
- Clearly communicate wait times and manage guest expectations. Provide updates as needed and ensure guests are informed of any changes.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Provide information about the menu and specials as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station. Ensure that the waiting area and entrance are tidy and welcoming.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Relay any special requests or issues to the appropriate team members.
- Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and efficiency, escalating to management if necessary.

RequirementsRequirements
- Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Basic mathematic skills and ability to handle cash and operate a POS system accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Certifications:
- Texas Food Handlers Certification.
- TABC certification for serving alcohol if 18 years of age.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
