POSITION SUMMARYThe Host/Hostess is responsible for delivering hospitality to our guests with genuine and personable conversation. This position is critical to our guests' overall experience as the Host/Hostess is the first and last impression. He/she must exceed the guest experience by aspiring to go above and beyond in providing exceptional service that will compel our guests to continue to come back.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential Functions Statement(s)
- Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
- Greet guests with a genuine welcome while making a fantastic first impression
- Deliver genuine hospitality to and establish emotional connections with our guests
- Contribute to the overall teamwork and success of the restaurant
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Assist guests to their tables while engaging in polite conversation and delivering a great experience
- Answer the telephones and take requests for reservations accurately
- Take orders, in person or over the telephone, for takeout orders and packages to go food accurately
- Update table availability and manage dining room effectively using the table management system
- Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately
- Communicate with managers and servers regarding table availability, key table updates, or special requests made by guests
- Follow up with guests about their meal and dining experience to ensure great guest satisfaction
- Maintain high level of cleanliness and sanitation
- Demonstrate professional and gracious demeanor at all times
- Perform all opening, running, and closing duties accurately
- Perform any job function requested by the management team
