Job Description:
TYPICALLY REPORTS TO: Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, General Manager STATUS: HourlyPRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The host/ess works as part of a team and is responsible for hosting the clientele of Early to Rise restaurant. We expect all our staff to provide exceptional customer interactions and service. The experience requirements and responsibilities of a Server include the following but are not limited to: • Have one year of retail or customer service-related experience. • Possess strong hospitality and communication skills. • Greet and seat guests in a courteous timely manner. • Manage reservation system. • Confirm and assign reservations to maximize the flow of business. • Ability to answer the phone to take reservations, answer questions and take to-go orders. • Be able to follow detailed directions and job assignments given by the management team and carry them out. • Ability to learn, describe and recommend food menu items to customers. • Ability to support tableside service including but not limited to running food, bussing and resetting tables and arranging tables. • Assist with opening and closing the restaurant. • Must be able to lift merchandise and or equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to take customer orders, input them into the P.O.S. system and deliver orders to customers in a reasonable timeframe established by the company. • Clean and restock area when needed. • Must maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Ability to interact well with co-workers in order to assure the high level of teamwork expected of staff. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to exert well-paced mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility. Hours are often extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
