The Host serves as the first and last point of contact throughout the guest experience and is responsible for greeting guests while entering and departing the location, handling inquiries and reservations, and supporting in other areas of the operation as needed.Minimum Qualifications1+ years experience as a Host in a fast-paced,high-volume service environment and/or equivalent relevant experienceStrong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guestservice skillsAbility to consistently deliver high-quality guestexperiences, exceed guest expectations, and strive to create a memorableexperience at every City Winery visitEffective communication and interpersonal skills with aproven ability to build positive relationships with people in the scope ofemploymentAptitude to resolve problemsAbility to execute professional guest serviceexperienceAbility to handle all guests with composure andhospitalityPolished presentationAbility to work both independently and in a teamenvironmentMust be fluently literate in English including abilityto read, write, communicate, conduct basic business related mathematics,and able to accurately function a POSAbility to work a flexible schedule including days,nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to perform physical requirements of the roleincluding standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling,pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 25 poundsOverview of ResponsibilitiesProvide positive guest experience including greeting,conversing with, and thanking departing guestsEscort guests to seats and set them up for apleasurable dining experience based on appropriate floor planAccommodate guest requests while seeking managementapproval when appropriateManage all call-ins and walk -in inquiries, directingto appropriate departmental contacts or taking messages andcommunicating to such departments as necessaryEnsure all dining areas are tidy, presentable, and insafe condition and set up/rearrange/breakdown dining room for serviceaccordinglyManage miscellaneous day-to-day communications,including but not limited to, voicemails, emails, deliveries, andreservation calls and communicate any important reservations/guestinquiries.Maintain all reservations/seating through designatedsystemProvide guests with accurate wait time estimates duringbusy periodsPerform necessary opening/closing tasksRotate seating between different stations to ensureeven workloads for waitstaffMaintain a knowledge of City Winery brand, history,culture, and programming, both in venue and restaurantMaintain menu knowledge, including ingredients,preparation methods, and allergen information andcommunicate this information tableside to guestsMaintain organized, clean, and safe work areas at alltimesAttend trainings, tastings, meetings, as neededFollow all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesincluding being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform, withneat and presentable appearance.Perform all other reasonably assigned duties.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at City Winery.
