Job Description:
Hotel and Casino Engineer PositionESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining the upkeep and safety of the property.
  • Using material handling equipment, forklifts and cart, electric, and hand operated digging, demolition, and cleaning tools and equipment, assisting in the wet cleaning of internal and external water features, working in the tool room, assisting all trades and crafts with routine and emergency work assignments.
  • Responsible for hauling, lifting, and transportation of building materials, supplies, equipment, filters, furniture, and gaming tables.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work. Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers, Display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED required. Must have general maintenance experience, preferably from a hotel. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to second hand smoke and high noise levels.Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts. Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts. Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel. Work in a fast-paced and busy environment. Work indoors and outdoors be exposed to various environmental factors
