JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

Room Attendant Responsibilities

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning rooms in our property's hotel tower(s).

This position pays $19/hr.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Services guest rooms using cleaning agents and equipment to ensure adherence to department policies.
  • Ability to clean and maintain guest rooms to the departmental standards. Rooms are frequently inspected to ensure standards set by the department are met.
  • Reporting any defects in the guest room or guest common areas to the maintenance team and management team.
  • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.
  • Removes inventories and replaces soiled linens and prepares rooms for guest arrivals.
  • Organizes and/or replenishes guest room amenities.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly cart with adequate supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within areas of responsibility.
  • Promotes positive guest and team member relations at all times.
  • Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with all Company, Local, State, Federal and Tribal regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • May occasionally use de-escalation techniques to resolve customer conflict.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous hotel cleaning experience is preferred.
    • Exceptional guest service skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Must be able to receive constructive feedback to improve performance or guest product.
    • Communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
    • Commitment to routinely achieve position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
    • Basic computer experience is preferred.
    • Basic mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
    • Must be attentive to detail.
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
    • Successfully participate in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, and/or certifications related to the position.
    • Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.

    Work Environment:

    • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the Hotel Rooms. There may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms (including overhead and side to side, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull wheeled hand-carts or other equipment weighing in excess of 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Employee will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Required to push cleaning cart and operate vacuums.
    • May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids, pet or service animals and strong odors (including smoking rooms).
    • Fast-paced position that is consistently busy.

    Native American Preference Policy:

    The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
