Or maybe it's because we actively work to make hospitality (with each other, our guests, our clients and partners) the foundation upon which everything is built.Job overviewAs part of the Maintenance team, this position performs all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer/Engineering Supervisor to maintain a safe, attractive and efficiently operated hotel. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for performing other duties as assigned.Your day-to-day
- Perform basic repair and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms and public spaces.
- Maintain building by performing basic repairs, carpentry, shoveling, clean-up work, snow and ice removal, plumbing, electrical, painting and any other related maintenance activities as needed.
- Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment for conformance with operations and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas.
- Ensure security of any assigned keys.
- Assist with Lost Prevention as needed to ensure the safety and security of guests and associates.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints and/ or requests to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction.
- Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs on all hotel equipment.
- Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; complete maintenance requests forms and record logs.
- Maintain the building's exterior and curb appeal.
- Assist with setting up, tearing down and cleaning up banquet and meeting rooms as assigned.
- Respond to all emergency situations and notify the appropriate authorities and managers.
- Be able to use two-way radios, telephones, general office equipment and various types of maintenance equipment.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure the security of inventory, such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture and televisions.
- Replenish supplies in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing waste and ensuring that equipment is prepared and operational for the next shift.
- Make regular rounds of the building to ensure proper operation of equipment, while also looking for any safety and security items and report them immediately.
- Understand and practice all tasks and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
- Assist in any other task or duties as requested by management.
