Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof is currently recruiting for a Hotel Manager. Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, you are responsible to oversee all hotel departments and guide the team. Your focus is to maximize the financial returns, budgets and goals and inspire the leadership to be commercially focused, driving the development of people and creating the Moxy Hotels brand experience and building awareness of the hotel and the Brand.

As Hotel Manager you have an eye for details and you know what is expected of you to give the guest a MOXY EXPERIENCE. You are proactive, kind and helpful and you are a visible leader for the team. You have a deep connection to the target guest and the brand's core values – thoughtful, fun and spirited. You understand and resonate with what MOXY is all about, and focus your energy on bringing the MOXY experience to life for every guest and every Crew Member. You are the host for the guest – always visible, and available for them, handling guest complaints and or celebrations.

You are responsible for correct and accurate flow of operational processes in the hotel (Front office, BOH, Housekeeping, Maintenance). This includes correct performance of your team, following of all the standards and SOPs, successful cooperation between teams/departments, making sure hotel supply is accurate and on time, resolving of any issues in timely manner etc.

You manage your team by leading, training, controlling, and following up on daily basis. You are leading by example, always present and hands on. You are the main point of contact for your team in all operational, as well as administrative questions. You are in charge of building team spirit and advocating team atmosphere.

You have financial responsibility by making sure flow of money in the hotel is accurate. You are in charge of the reporting.

You are up and on your feet for most of the day, mingling and creating a buzzing atmosphere in the hotel, while maintaining a smooth operation behind the scenes to ensure the business is in order.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day hotel operations.
  • Customer service, guest relations and creating positive guest experiences.
  • Ensure a profitable hotel operation in line with company goals.
  • Prepare and maintain all operational related financial aspects e.g. P&L, CapEx and Budgeting.
  • To act as a role model and provide guidance to Supervisors and the team on company culture; to select, develop, manage and motivate to reach performance and team goals.
  • To promote the hotels' policies and philosophies to co-workers and guests through direct and indirect interactions.
  • Follow all food safety, licensing and health and safety policies to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
  • Promote and support the Moxy Hotels brand and the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.
  • Responsible for all aspects of HR processes within the hotel, including payroll.
  • Recruit and train the crew, as well as having the right tools needed to give the MOXY Experience.
  • Make sure that the guest experience reaches the MOXY experience and is accurate to the MOXY Service Manual.
  • Make sure that the hotel follows local law and regulation in every procedure.
  • Be active and involved in the daily work of your team.
  • Close cooperation with the sales and revenue team, to make sure business is coming in at the right price.
  • Be updated on the hotels forecast and be proactive in order to plan future operational actions.

What is required?

  • Minimum 4 years of hotel managerial experience.
  • Resident in/close to Berlin (or acceptable travel distance).
  • Previously worked in similar management position.
  • Previous experience in a hotel industry.
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • System knowledge: OPERA Micros, any Marriott related system is a plus.
  • Fluent in German and English, an additional foreign language is preferred.
  • A high energy individual, who leads from the front.
  • Good with people and enjoys chatting with guests.
  • A skilled multi-tasker who can balance hard work with great service.
  • A proactive professional, focused on driving team goals.
