FUNCTION: Under direct supervision, trouble shoot and resolve a wide variety of maintenance concerns throughout the property. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting, repairing, and maintaining hotel rooms, equipment, and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.Respond promptly to guest requests and internal work orders for repairs related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), appliances, furniture, fixtures, and other equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures to identify the root cause and implement appropriate solutions.Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to a regular schedule to minimize downtime and prevent costly repairs. This may include changing filters, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting equipment for signs of wear and tear.Conduct safety inspections of hotel rooms and public areas to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations such as power outages, water leaks, and fire alarms, taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety and comfort of guests and staff.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, parts used, and equipment inspections, using computerized maintenance management systems (HotSOS) or other tracking tools.Communicate effectively with hotel staff, management, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely resolution of issues.Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage to support maintenance operations.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in maintenance and engineering, and participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.Overall, the role of a hotel room engineer is critical in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests by maintaining the physical integrity and functionality of hotel rooms and facilities.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Overall, the role of a hotel room engineer is critical in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests by maintaining the physical integrity and functionality of hotel rooms and facilities.Perform other duties as assigned.Performs all responsibilities in compliance with current federal and state/provincial regulations, the regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.Address guest concerns and or complaints in a timely and professional manner. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.Regular predictable attendance is required.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Housekeeping Manager, Director of Housekeeping.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 21 years of age. Ability to work nights, weekends and Holidays. EDUCATION LEVEL:High School diploma or equivalent is required.LANGUAGE:Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. EXPERIENCE:Minimum 1 year maintenance and repair background. SPECIAL SKILLS:Demonstrated ability to use hand tools, electrical tools, and plumbing tools. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of timeAbility to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.Fine finger manipulation. Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
