Job Description:
PositionResponsibilities: This clinical researchstudy will preliminarily investigate the feasibility and acceptability of acognitive rehabilitation program with mindfulness training integrated, calledC-SMART (Cognitive Strategies Mindfulness And Rehabilitation Therapy) forpatients with brain tumors and mild neurocognitive impairment. Dr. Sarah Braun,Assistant Professor in Neurology and Clinical Neuropsychologist, is thePrincipal Investigator (PI) and supervisor. For the clinical research studyassigned, the research assistant will be responsible for coordinating theclinical research study in a compliant and efficient manner.Under thedirection of the PI, the research assistant will ensure all federal, state,university, and protocol requirements are followed, institutional researchobjectives are met, and that ethical obligations are kept. Key responsibilitiesinclude:
  • Manage IRB approvals / amendments
  • Screen, consent, and enroll all participants
  • Administer brief neuropsychological assessment as partof the baseline and post-intervention data collection
  • Assist in functional neuro-imaging data collection atthe CARI Lab
  • Manage all data collection throughout the interventiontimeline, via redcap.
  • Attend weekly lab meetings
  • Attend biweekly manuscript development meetings
  • Data entry
Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience in health research and/or healthcare-related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of training & experience.Required Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the research process and principles ofresearch design
  • Experience working with research participants and/orpatients impacted by cognitive decline
  • Experience recruiting, screening, enrolling, andretaining research participants
  • Must possess strong critical thinking skills, as wellas complex problem-solving skills, and outstanding attention to detail
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills anddemonstrate ability to establish rapport with participants
  • Experience working collaboratively in a diverse teamsetting
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, timemanagement, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enrolled as a graduate student in a graduate psychologyprogram (e.g., PhD in clinical psychology)
  • Previous experience administering neuropsychologicaltests
  • Previous experience with Redcap and SPSS stronglypreferred
  • Experience conducting one-on-one interviews withresearch subjects preferred
  • Experience working with IRB and human subjectsdocumentation preferred
