Applications to be submitted by October 24, 2024 Compensation Grade: H96 Compensation Details: Minimum: $20.00 - Maximum: $20.00 Hourly Department (OPH) Office of Public Health Job Description: Responsibilities This position is designed to introduce students to the field of public health emergency preparedness through working with the CNY Regional Office (CNYRO) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Representatives. The Hourly Project Assistant II will work with the PHEP Representatives to support preparedness goals and activities to provide support in the review and update of emergency preparedness plans, regional annual hazard vulnerability assessments, and other activities as identified by regional, state, and federal priorities. This role will assist in the compilation and review of After-Action Reports (AAR) to improve regional plans, as well as coordination, implementation, and tracking of HEPC exercises and drills; assist to prepare and monitor correspondence between health emergency preparedness partners via shared email account, listservs, and Health Commerce System applications; assist with the coordination and integration of CNY Region emergency preparedness planning, training, exercises, and other activities. These activities will include participation on special workgroups and committees to ensure CNY Region preparedness and response capabilities are included in the Department's and Regional Office's emergency planning and response efforts, including but not limited to the New York State Department of Health's All Hazards Planning Workgroup and other workgroups as identified. The incumbent will provide assistance to analyze site-specific data for departmental presentations and reports; assist staff to create presentations, fact sheets, data tables using analyzed site-specific data and assist with other appropriate related duties, as needed. Minimum Qualifications An associate's, bachelor's or master's degree in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience organizing, consolidating and preparing narrative and numerical information into clear, logical reports. Experience analyzing written and published program material and draw conclusions concerning its impact. Experience using computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience developing presentational materials and communicating information through presentations, trainings, or meeting environments. Conditions of Employment Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 12/13/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
