Wood and Metal Shop Monitor
Position Description:
The Department of Sculpture and Extended Media is seeking monitors to work in the wood shop. Shop monitors maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shops, ensure equipment is working properly, and follow procedures for inoperable equipment. Selected candidates are responsible for safeguarding tools and equipment and maintaining inventory. The shop monitor ensures that everyone using equipment is authorized to do so, ensures proper safety attire is being worn and that all rules are being followed.
Preferred Qualifications:
This position requires a great work ethic, a pleasant and professional demeanor, and the flexibility to work independently or as part of a team. Applicants must be reliable, comfortable multi-tasking with strong time management skills, and pay close attention to detail. Experience using equipment in wood shops is preferred. Training can be provided when necessary.
