Join our committed team at Recovering Hope Treatment Center as a House Advocate and help us provide essential support and care.The House Advocate is responsible for supporting activities of clients, coordinating the necessary administrative tasks related to client care and acting as a representative of the treatment staff, providing health care services via medication administration, light maintenance and general cleaning of indoor and outdoor grounds, and meal preparation and clean up.Responsibilities:
- Support the recovery activities of clients.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living.
- De-escalate problem behaviors with clients.
- Update client records as appropriate and necessary.
- Provide supervision and redirection in interactions.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks.
- Maintain a visible presence in the unit by circulating through the building.
- Be alert to fire and safety hazards.
- Provide treatment services as directed by the treatment team in accordance with section 245G.10, subdivision 3.
- Serve as a positive and compassionate role model to clients
- Conduct room checks, as well as room and vehicle searches
- Assist as necessary with the intake and discharge processes.
- Monitor client activity on cameras and check in clients returning to the facility.
- Facilitating visiting hours for the clients and their visitors.
- Ensure the building is secure.
- Administer medication in accordance with treatment plans. Enter meds into MAR.
- Administer scheduled and PRN medication under the direction of Medical Director, Registered and Licensed nursing staff.
- Meet regularly with the Nurse Manager.
- Provide legible, written documentation of client progress in the client record as needed.
- Timely report any unsafe conditions to the appropriate nursing staff and/or Medical Director.
- Communicate recordings to appropriate nursing staff.
- Vacuum and dust common areas in the facility.
- Remove trash.
- Clean bathrooms
- Sweep and mop floors
- Change and launder items
- Light maintenance such as, but not limited to, light bulbs, hanging things, putting desks together, moving furniture, painting
- Preparing client rooms for admit
- Outdoor maintenance such as, but not limited to, weeding, cleaning grounds of garbage or debris, sweeping or shoveling walking areas
- Cook and complete all meals and food preparation.
- Distribute food on the serving line as needed.
- Stock food and supplies.
- Refill and restock supplies such as coffee, napkins, utensils, etc.
- Answer questions for clients and employees.
- Wash all dishes, cooking utensils and equipment.
- Ensure all food preparation and serving areas are clean.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Purchase Food timely and on schedule with delivery
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Be able to pass a background check
- Ability to utilize and navigate computers, laptops, and/or tablets, to complete daily documentation or communication through email, an Electronic Medical Records System, or other company used programs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age per licensure requirements pertaining to residential facilities.
- Ability to pass medication sign off
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
- Frequently communicate with employees, managers, patients and other individuals with key relationships. This requires receiving and providing accurate information in these situations.
- Frequently move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery and supplies, etc
