The Complex located in downtown SLC is one of Utah's most popular concert venues!

We are currently looking to hire qualified house staff to help keep our venue safe and provide the best customer experience possible.

Pay Grade; $15 per hour

House Staff personnel are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patrons, performers, and staff during concerts and events. They play a crucial role in maintaining order, preventing disturbances, and responding to emergencies. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Crowd Management: Maintain control over crowds entering and exiting the venue, as well as during the event. Monitor crowd behavior and respond to any signs of unrest or disorder.

2. **Bag Checks:** Conduct thorough bag checks and screening of attendees to prevent prohibited items from entering the venue, such as weapons or illegal substances.

3. Perimeter Security: Patrol the perimeter of the venue to deter unauthorized entry and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.

4. VIP Protection: Provide security for VIPs, performers, and other high-profile individuals attending the event.

5. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies such as medical incidents, fights, or disturbances. Coordinate with emergency services as needed.

6. Asset Protection: Protect equipment, merchandise, and other valuable assets from theft or damage.

7. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow security personnel, event organizers, and other staff members to coordinate security efforts and respond to incidents.

8. Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts and de-escalate tense situations using effective communication and conflict resolution techniques.

9. First Aid: Provide basic first aid assistance to individuals in need until medical professionals arrive, we have on site EMT's at every event.

10. Report Writing: Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports for follow-up and review if needed.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

4. Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.

5. Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

6. Knowledge of crowd control techniques and emergency response procedures.

7. Certification in first aid, CPR, and other relevant training programs is desirable.

8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.

9. Must be over the age of 18.

10. Active Guard Card not required but preferred.

Working Conditions:

House Staff personnel work primarily in indoor and outdoor concert venues, where they may be exposed to loud noise, crowds, and inclement weather conditions. The job may require standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting or restraining individuals if necessary. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as concerts and events often take place during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
