Job DetailsJob LocationHighland- Clarksburg Hospital - Clarksburg, WVDescriptionHIGHLAND HOSPITAL-CLARKSBURGJOB DESCRIPTIONHOUSE SUPERVISORJOB SUMMARY:The House Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the Hospital during times Administrative staff are not present or available. Reports to the Director of Patient Care Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides Hospital supervision during the absence of the Nurse Manager, Program Managers and other Administrative personnel. Hospital's representative on duty for families and/or patients verbalizing concerns/problems relating to the Hospital stay or admission. Rounds to all inpatient treatment units to provide monitoring, supervision, direction, and assistance as needed. Assures staff breaks are on time and being covered. Assures pre-admission intake assessments are completed accurately and followed up per Hospital policy, and will assist with admission process as needed. In the absence of admissions staff or to assist admissions staff completes all admission office paperwork correctly and in a timely manner. Communicates any difficulty to the appropriate admission staff.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:Assures any suspect Adverse Drug Reaction, Infection Control, Incident Report, or work related accident forms are completed thoroughly and accurately, at the time of occurrence. Assures that the follow-up necessary is completed and documented per policy/procedure. Assures Infection Control, Pharmacy and all other Hospital Department policies and procedures are followed. Monitors, evaluates and communicates any identified training needs of staff to the Nurse Manager on an ongoing basis.Assists with in service/formal training as needed.Identifies safety hazards and intervene on an emergency basis, reporting such information to Facilities Department management and a Nurse Manager or the Director of Patient Care Services. Resource person for the Hospital Staff regarding Hospital policies and procedures.Assists with documentation of personnel issues as needed.Seeks assistance/support from the Nurse Manager, Program Managers, Administrator on-call as well as other Administrative staff as may be necessary.Meets staff development requirements.Serve as a role model for staff.Helps with Code management and debriefing of staff after Code. Treatment team coverage as needed. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in dealing with sensitive personnel issues, working with and knowledge of psychiatric inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, chemically dependent and/or dually diagnosed patients, and previous charge/management experience. Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret instructions, documents and follow procedures.Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with patients and their families, employees and public.Ability to follow and provide instructions regarding policies and procedures.Reasoning Ability:Ability to make decisions considering the following: the patient and his/her family, the Hospital, staff resources, various governmental regulations and current policies and proceduresAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations, working as a team member, and be fair, firm consistent and caring.Ability to be assertive with proven leadership and communications skills. Certificates, License, Registration:Licensed Registered Nurse.Other Skills and Abilities:Ability to work flexible hours.
