- Cleans isolation rooms and recognizes uncommon situations that require alterations or special needs.
- Operates the Biosprayer
- Operates Auto scrubber and understands what chemicals are used on floors
- Operates carpet machine and understands what chemicals are used.
- Terminally cleans the pharmacy and understands the importance of keeping the unit clean and not contaminating the area
- Terminally cleans Endo rooms and precaution rooms understanding the importance of removing the dirt and debris to disinfect the room.
- Considers patient privacy (HIPPA) when disposing trash.
- Responds to surveyors questions.
- Accesses MSDS to clean up/manage spills
- Standards for sorting trash for compactor/shredding (HIPPA)/recycle/biohazard disposal.
REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Manager SUPERVISES: NoneINTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Comes in contact with patients, physicians, staff and visitors on a daily basis when performing cleaning duties throughout the hospital campus.QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a grammar school education and be able to follow written and/or oral instructions. Prior housekeeping experience in a Healthcare Facility is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided. Works inside and out as needed. Empties outside waste receptacle, transports trash to the dumpster, sweeps walkways, cleans inside and outside windows, and shovels snow in the absence of maintenance personnel. Will use electrical equipment while performing procedures in floor care and other tasks requiring equipment, i.e. floor machines and vacuum cleaners.
