This position is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas throughout the Hospital, along with maintenance of environmental sanitation within acceptable levels of bacteriological, as well as visual, cleanliness. Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, entry ways, locker rooms, and other work areas while using universal precautions.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, blinds and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Sweep, and scrub floors, using brooms and mops.
- Dust, clean and disinfect furniture, equipment, fittings, and appliances using germicides fittings and equipment.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Replenish supplies such as linens, and bathroom items.
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
- Report need to repair services to supervisor.
- Hang draperies, and dust window blinds.
- Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
- Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies using wheeled cart.
- Compliance with hospital policies concerning safety, infection control, HIPAA, SDS.
- Economical use of supplies.
- Neat personal appearance.

- This position is responsible for wholehearted, genuine operations of all aspects of the safety and health program - including compliance with rules and regulations- and for continuously practicing safety and health while performing their duties.
- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Past hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of walking/standing.
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movements.
- Prolonged periods of climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
