Carlow University is seeking a full-time
Housekeeper II. Responsibilities include cleaning and assigned area such as a small building, a portion of a larger building, or a group of offices. Duties require making routine work decisions independently although work usually follows established methods and work procedures. Employees in the class may perform duties such as ordering and reordering supplies for the storage space in their assigned area via the Request for Supplies form and distributing supplies to the other Housekeeping employees, reporting needed repairs to a supervisor, and training new employees in the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations. In addition to the normal duties of a Housekeeper I a Housekeeper II will be expected to perform the following:
- Washes, waxes, dusts, and polishes floors
- Operates housekeeping equipment including but not limited to floor scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, etc.
- Moves furniture and equipment; delivers bulk supplies
- Provides the set-up and preparation for banquets, special events and special functions.
We seek individuals with the following qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for chemicals and materials used in housekeeping operations
- Four years previous institutional housekeeping experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person is essential.
- Ability to walk or stand 95% of the time is required.
- Valid PA Driver's License is required.
- Applicant must complete a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug test.
