Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Kansas Soldiers' Home at Fort Dodge is looking for a dependable individual to work as a full-time Housekeeper in our Custodial department. Our residents are looking for someone who is friendly, attends work on time and regularly and wants to be a team member.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
* Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties (e.g. sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming) to maintain buildings.
* Cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment.
* Develops and implements green cleaning and maintenance initiatives.
* Prepares guest rooms and cottages for occupancy.
* Performs minor building and grounds maintenance (i.e. changes light bulbs).
* Moves heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
* Empties trash receptacles.
* Sets up and tears down for special events.
* Locks and unlocks doors and secure buildings.
* Cleans up and disposes of bodily fluids.

Minimum Qualifications
* Knowledge and ability to use machines and equipment required to maintain a clean and functional building
* Sufficient physical strength to stand the strain of working long hours at custodial tasks.
