ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Camp Housekeeping ensures camp is welcoming and safe through cleanliness, safety and appearance of the facilities and property. Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize inside and outside of buildings and common areas of camp property to meet standards of cleanliness in accordance with cleaning checklists and using required safety measures. Replenish products and supplies as needed. Develop intentional relationships and engage with members, responding to customer service needs Set-up before and tear-down after summer camp and user groups Record and report necessary repairs and supplies needed. Work as a member of the camp staff team. Maintain effective communication with administrative camp staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be available between May 17 through August 15, 2025 Must be 16 years old. Must have or attain Missouri Serve Safe certification prior to camp. Possess a practical understanding and comprehensive knowledge of food service, storage and cleanliness standards. Exemplify the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility. Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate changes in program schedule. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to weather and meal prep activities. Endurance to work with daily exposure to heat, varying temperatures, hot stoves, steam, cleaning products, and on occasion, insects. Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of staff. Ability to lift to 50 pounds. Endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate kitchen equipment. Work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities.
