Hospice of the East Bay (HEB) is a community-based program of home care for terminally ill patients. Care is given to patients and families by an interdisciplinary group. Bereavement care is provided to the family for one year after the death. Hospice services are given regardless of ability to pay,making the agency dependent on donations and insurance billing to meet operating expenses.POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Manager of Bruns House and is responsible for providing for the overall cleanliness of the Facility and prepares meals for the residents of the Bruns House, Inpatient Facility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Promote quality customer service to patient, patient families and visitors
- Participate in quality control monitoring
- Demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks according to standard policies and procedures.
- Maintain assigned areas in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition by performing work assignments in an effective and prescribed manner.
- Performs a variety of tasks to set up, replenish, prepare and serve food items; storeroom supplies, performs cleaning activities, linen, busing activities, ensures all containers are stocked and overall cleanliness of the kitchen at all times.
- Understands the principles and terminology of modified diets
- Prepares food to meet each resident's needs in accordance with their diet plan

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 1 year of housekeeping experience in hospital environment; healthcare or related area is helpful.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
