**Description:**

**Position Purpose:**
The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe health care environment by daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, departments, and other assigned areas.
**What you will do:**
+ Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed department guidelines.
+ Executes proper cleaning procedure as observed by the Supervisor following patient discharges.
+ Demonstrates efficient, cost-effective and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by the Supervisor.
+ Performs other special assignments, which may be assigned by the Supervisor or required by the needs of the Hospital.
+ Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the hospital.
+ Contributes to the effective operation of the hospital by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
**Physical Demands:**
+ This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
+ The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
**Minimum Qualifications** **:**
+ High School diploma or (GED) preferred, not required.
+ Housekeeping experience preferred, not required.
+ Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
+ Ability to work alternate weekends & Holidays.
