Job Summary . PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To provide exceptional quality housekeeping services to enhance the overall guest experience by engaging with guests whenever one is in sight. Assure cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and guest rooms and assistguest/colleagues whenever they are in need of help. To clean and maintain all public areas which includes all rest rooms, locker rooms, corridors, offices and food and beverage outlets, front door area. It is imperative that all areas be kept in impeccable condition to achieve Langham's and Forbes standards.Requirement . RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES: Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping. Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads w eighing a maximum of 40 lbs. Must respond quickly and efficiently to all guest requests. Make-up rollaway beds and cribs in a vacated room and notifies housekeeping attendants for them to be properly stored. Vacuum public areas including corridors and all hallways. Vacuum non-public areas (back of house). Keep Housekeeping storage areas and butler pantries neat and secure. Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly. Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room, assigned work area and empty trash. Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room. Practice chemical safety rules and follows procedures for needles and other hazardous materials. Ensure all collateral in room looks brand new. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing from 40 up to 100 lbs. Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, as well as guests. Knowledge of Forbes Standards and prior work in luxury property preferred. Ability in executing details of tasks consistently. Ability to follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of a minimum of 11 Credits rooms as specified by management. Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prefer some previous housekeeping experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical activities include kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, bending, handling, feeling, reaching, stretching, grasping. Ability to work alone in an established routine. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
