About the role
We are looking for an energetic employee that can keep our medical facility floors clean.
Supervision Received: Reports to Housekeeping Supervisor; Procurement & Facilities Manager
Supervision Exercised: None.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently life and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required buy this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Typical Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance of all floor areas, sustaining high standards of cleanliness, and sanitation
* Remove spots from the carpets, perform bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, dispose of trash, and assist with hazardous waste collection
* Operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners and shop vacuums
* Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas and other areas
* Moving furniture before and after cleaning
* Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping and waxing floors
* Measuring chemicals correctly
* Operating chemical dispensing units
* Labeling chemical correctly
* Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently
* Keeping inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties
* Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor
* Assisting with hazardous waste collection as required by supervisor
* Follows practice's policies and procedures
Location & commitments
Part-time role based at all Physicians East locations, Monday-Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., some weekend work required
Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.
Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.
Candidate requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* Experience in floor care required.? Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
* Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of applicable OSHA practices and Infection Control procedures for healthcare is strongly preferred.
* Individual must be able to work independently and schedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of patients and GOB staff/physicians.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Must display a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and initiative.
* Must be able to work well under stress, tight deadlines, and fast-paced environment.
* Must have a strong sense of team commitment, which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through and feedback.
* Must possess exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills.
* Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.
* Ability to form positive and collaborative relationships with all levels in the organization.
* Must possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills and can create a favorable impression for the organization to all staff, physicians, patients, and the public.
* Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
* Knowledge of the English language to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment and materials and safety and accident prevention
