Location Description

The Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing is a great place to stay during your visit to Philadelphia. Its location is unique: it's the only hotel located directly on the Delaware River Waterfront at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia's downtown. The Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing's 350 well-appointed guest rooms and 24,000 square feet of meeting space offer an experience that is hard to match. The guest rooms are fitted with sleek work desks, along with 32 LCD televisions and wall-mounted, plug-n-play consoles for Wi-Fi internet access. Dark wood furnishings, leather lounge chairs, contemporary lighting and gorgeous bathrooms complete the newly renovated guest rooms, which also come with stunning city or river views.

Overview

The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated areas of the hotel and responding to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, the Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

* Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms

* Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays

* Greet guests in a friendly manner

* Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair

* Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed

* Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed

* Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed

Qualifications

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

* Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions.

* Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English.

* Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.

* Ability to read English language sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists to identify appropriate customer pick-up and drop off points and street signs.

* Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 100 lbs. continuously throughout shift.

* Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.

* Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage.

* Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.

Other: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift as business demands.
