Job Description:
Housekeeping/Laundry Aides will perform day-to-day activities of Housekeeping and Laundry Department to assure that facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
Duties Include:
* Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
* Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
* Report all accidents, incidents, defects, or other hazards to supervisor immediately.
* Follow establish policies and procedures to ensure safety and sanitation.
* Keep supervisor informed of supply needs, including those of the area you work in.
* Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as directed or requested.
* Maintain cleanliness of work/supply carts, equipment, etc. Store appropriately at end of shift.
* Clean, wash sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures; ensure that watermarks are removed.
* Clean floors (sweep, dust, wet mop, disinfect, vacuum carpet), walls and ceilings.
* Clean hallways, stairs, elevators, and handrails.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Experience as housekeeper in long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
* Knowledge of cleaning appliances, tools, and procedures.
* Ability to work independently, with others, and to follow instructions.
* Special interest and desire to serve the aging population.
