DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Department is responsible for all areas and buildings at Kripalu in upholding an exceptional standard of cleanliness.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Attendant ensures that guest rooms are clean, sanitized, organized, and welcoming. Perform cleaning and stocking of guest rooms and common areas of the organization in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Ensure the achievement of cleanliness, dcor and beauty standards within all Kripalu facilities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Clean, prepare, and detail all areas of our guest rooms including bathrooms, making beds, and vacuuming.

* Clean and detail the dormitories including making bunk beds.

* Pick up and dispose of trash and recycling in defined manner.

* Vacuum and dust public areas.

* Perform duties in accordance with defined safety standards, MA Health and Safety Guidelines, and Close Personal Contact Services standards.

* Perform duties in a manner that ensures guest security, privacy and confidentiality.

* Report any damage or missing supplies in guest rooms, public bathrooms, or common areas to supervisor.

* Prepare cleaning carts and stock closets.

* Assist with cleaning public bathrooms; clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, walls, and floors, re-stocking supplies.

* Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

* Supports the Kripalu team and other departments in ensuring the best-overall guest experience possible.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Demonstrated ability to achieve quality and productivity standards.

* Demonstrated ability to work well and effectively with others.

* No chemical sensitivity; able to use all Housekeeping cleaning products.

* Ability to work on feet and walk long distances for extended periods of time.

* Ability to understand basic instruction in english with a desire to learn more

Qualifications

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

* Preferred experience in housekeeping or other service-oriented occupation.

VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Prior non-profit experience.
