POSITION SUMMARY: Performs housekeeping supervisory duties within the standards set forth by Historic Hotel Bethlehem. The position includes but is not limited to inspecting guest room and public areas, cleaning, disinfecting, following safety procedures, and supervising the cleaning procedures set forth by Historic Hotel Bethlehem.The housekeeping supervisor is responsible but not limited to the following tasks: assigning guest rooms to the attendants, inspecting all rooms to ensure that they are properly cleaned and prepared for guest arrival. Ensuring that the amenities and promotional materials are appropriate for each room, notifies Engineering and prepares work orders for repairs as appropriate, assists the Executive Housekeeper in recording and returning Lost & Found items, assists as needed cleaning rooms or in laundry service.SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Knowledge of cleaning products and procedures in a hotel setting
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
  • Ability to deal well with people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to communicate effectively and verbally in English. Excellent hospitality skills. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must have the physical capability to lift, push or pull at least 30-50 pounds. Also, applicants must have the ability to use abdominal and back muscles and be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Must also have the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists, and to reach and stretch, bend, kneel and squat. There will be a pre-employment drug screen and a nationwide criminal background check. Previous employment will be verified and references will be thoroughly checked.
