Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor Hotel Department: HousekeepingReports to: Executive Housekeeper FLSA: Non-exemptJOB Objective: Responsible for assisting Executive Housekeeper with coordinating and overseeing the cleaning of guest rooms and all public areas along with the overall management of the housekeeping department.Key Areas of Responsibility: To maintain cleanliness of entire hotel according to company standards.Specific Duties:
- Open and close the housekeeping department as needed, prepare room assignment reports for room attendants and assign houseman their daily duties.
- Overall management of all employees assigned to the department.
- Create good working relationships and teamwork with all other departments.
- Collect all room assignment reports and keys at the end of the day. Make sure all floors are secure.
- Ensure all staff has the proper tools to complete their duties.
- Stay in constant communication with the Maintenance department to ensure all problems are corrected.
- Make sure all standards are enforced in rooms and public areas for safety.
- Check rooms daily to ensure all standards are achieved.
- Help supervise the re-supplying of all linen closets.
- Record all lost and found items.
- Coordinate and communicate any follow-up items or problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Help maintain all department cleaning logs as per hotel standards.
- The hotel is a 24 hour, 365 day open establishment. Flexible hours including weekends and holidays are required.
- Handle all interactions with hotel employees and/or guests in a friendly, professional, service oriented manner.
- Must comply with hotel and brand standard to ensure the safety off all guests and employees.
- Report to supervisor all maintenance equipment issues.
- Report to supervisor any health, safety, or hazard issues.
- Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated
Qualifications:
- Must be able to demonstrate reliable and timely attendance.
- Must be able to manage time and complete tasks on schedule and efficiently.
- Requires good communication skills.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum two years housekeeping supervisory / leadership role or related job experience.
- HS diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills:
- Comprehension of English language.
- Must be able to convey and relay ideas and information clearly and efficiently.
Equipment/Computer Expertise
- Basic PC Knowledge and understanding of a Windows operating system. Ability to be trained on the hotels property management system.
Physical Demands:
- May be required to move, lift, or push 50 pounds frequently or consistently.
- Standing, walking or bending is required the majority of the shift.
Work Environment:
- Must be able work well with others in a team environment.
- Must be able to work in a supervised atmosphere, accept and understand coaching, counseling, instructions and/or feedback.
- Neat and professional appearance is required. Name tags and uniforms are required to be worn at all times.
