JOB TITLE: Housekeeping PT Lead DEPARTMENT: Operations Services REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor, performs the activities of housekeeping staff in cleaning duties; to keep an assigned area of a facility clean and orderly; and to perform additional duties as required. To perform and direct with the activities of housekeeping staff in cleaning duties, keep facilities clean and orderly prior to, during, and after events. Must be available to work at the Pikes Peak Center, the Broadmoor World Arena, and the Ice Hall. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform housekeeping duties including but not limited to sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors; vacuuming, spot cleaning and shampooing carpets; cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, pictures, window blinds, bookcases, computer screens and water fountains; wash, dust and polish furniture, woodwork, shelves and metal work; clean and re-supply all restrooms; collect and empty all waste receptacles; clean, maintain and repair all housekeeping equipment. When required - assign duties and supervise part-time and temporary staff workers to ensure all tasks have been completed. Work in conjunction with 3rd party housekeeping contractors. Assist the Operations Supervisor in the control and management of inventory of all housekeeping supplies and equipment. Report all work requiring maintenance or repair to the appropriate team resource, i.e. burnt-out light bulbs, furniture that needs repair, broken cup holders, etc. Makes recommendations to improve service and efficient operation. Responsible for performing closing duties at The Broadmoor World Arena and The Pikes Peak Center, when necessary - to include but not limited to the checking that all lights are off and doors are locked and secure. Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of cleaning materials and solutions. Basic mathematical skills. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to work independently and as a team depending on current job needs. Ability to effectively manage employees and resolve employee conflicts with the housekeeping staff. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: Standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 25lbs. Move furniture, materials, and equipment. Perform repetitive motion activities. Ability to continuously stand and/or walk. May be exposed to human waste/infectious waste. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Variable Schedule - Days, Weekends, Nights, Holidays. Regularly exposed to loud noises (Floor scrubber, Zamboni Operation, and other equipment). The noise level in the work environment at times can be very loud. Must also be able to work in a variety of weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to hotter temperatures/ indoors and outdoors.
