A houseman is responsible for cleaning public space, assisting room and laundry attendants, assist maintenance staff and responding to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. Position Requirements As a Houseperson, you would be responsible for delivering clean linens to the guest room attendants in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Clean public space including exterior
- Deliver clean linen to guest room attendants and linen closets
- Collect and deliver dirty linen to the Laundry department
- Collect trash and recycling from guest room attendant's carts and dispose of properly
- Deliver all extra supplies to linen closets
- Collect dirty dishware from rooms and supply to food and beverage kitchen
- Ensure all equipment is in operational order and all supplies are up to par
- Be familiar with the operating procedures of all other areas of the hotel, cooperating fully and in a friendly manner with those areas to assure customer satisfaction
- Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff
- Ensure areas are free of safety hazards and perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Assists in the laundry to wash, dry and fold linens and terry, as needed
- Assists with cleaning and organizing store room, as needed
- Moves heavy furniture, as needed
- Carpet cleaning, as needed
- Greet guests in a friendly manner
Applicants must be honest, customer-focused, reliable, friendly, and a team player. Must be able to perform duties exceptionally well with little supervision. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with guests and other employees. Position requires physical stamina due to regular bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying of 25 to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
