Live in Only - 14 on /7 off scheduleIf you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.As a Houseparent in our live-in children's residential home, your primary responsibility will be to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in your care. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting the children in their daily activities, including meals, homework, bedtime routines, and recreational activities. Houseparents are also expected to create a structured and supportive living environment that promotes independence, responsibility, and social skills development. This may involve managing standards, guidelines and boundaries, providing guidance and discipline when necessary, and facilitating positive relationships among children and staff.In addition to providing direct care for the children, Houseparents are often responsible for maintaining the household, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and other household chores. Excellent communication and teamwork with other staff members, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, are essential in this role.Ideal candidates for this position will have experience working with children or adolescents, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for helping children in need. This is a live-in position, and Houseparents are required to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. This schedule requires providing 24/7 direct care, 14 days on/7days off. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.Proven experience working with children, preferably in a residential care or group home setting.Strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed care.Ability to establish and maintain rapport with children from diverse backgrounds.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and crisis intervention techniques.Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving environment.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if required to transport children).CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal records and child abuse clearances.Benefits:This position includes room and board, as well as competitive salary and benefits packages.
