Position Title: HousepersonDepartment: HousekeepingReports To: Executive Director of HousekeepingFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPrepared/Revised Date: December 2022Position SummaryThe Houseperson will support the needs of the Housekeeping department. Their job duties require style and service attributes that are key to creating a positive guest experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete daily responsibilities such as cleaning, and polishing floors, walls, and ceilings, vacuuming, and dusting all hallways, and staircases as needed, stripping rooms for housekeepers, and responding to all guests and housekeeping requests
- Complete assigned special projects, which may include checking/cleaning all vacuums on the floor properly, and cleaning filters, deep cleaning all hallways including light fixtures, and baseboard moldings, shampooing carpets in hallways, polishing the mail chute, cleaning/mopping closet floors, and cleaning windows by guest elevator landings, window seals and exit doors, and door frames
- Clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel, including restrooms, entrance doors, lobby areas, outdoor areas, hallways, elevators, stairways and other trafficked areas
- Move furniture, hang drapes and roll carpets
- Develop and maintain positive communication, and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors
- Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous hospitality experience required
Language SkillsAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and ability to print and speak simple sentences in English and Spanish.
