Duties
You will serve as a Housing Management Assistant and be responsible for a variety of assignments related to contracting, occupancy, maintaining and termination activities of government owned or leased family and singe housing at the assigned locality.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
* Providing housing referral services to member as required, utilizing the eMH portal and Homes.mil.
* Monitoring the assignment of tenants to available family and UPH quarters and schedules pre-occupancy, per-termination, termination, and annual inspections.
* Maintaining and issuing barracks furnishings.
* Conducing or coordinating joint tenant and management inspections of family and UPH quarter to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance and habitability of the unit, furnishing, equipment, and facilities.
* Resolving a variety of housing problems by assembling facts and evaluating information on a multitude of issues.
* Submitting work order requests as necessary and makes recommendations for repairs and improvements.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
* Working in the field of housing management that required application of a variety of general business principles and practices concerning the purchase, rental, and overall utilization of housing facilities;
* Conducting surveys and gathering data;
* Monitoring program budgets; preparing correspondence and reports;
* Processing housing applications;
* Maintaining rental or leasing properties files/information.
OR
At least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level: Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (at least 3.0);
OR
Completion of one (1) full year of appropriate graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours, or the equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of the position to be filled for the required one year of specialized experience;
OR
A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in or related to the work of this position and some graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position and experience.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
