MHA seeks an enthusiastic, personable, friendly, and professional person to fill our Section 8 Housing Specialist position. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining high occupancy levels for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. Related tasks include interviewing applicants, processing applications, coordinating offers and unit assignments, issuing vouchers, conducting briefings, maintaining files, advising ineligible applicants, and preparing reports. The position reports to the Lease/Admissions Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of experience in general office and public contact work, preferably in the housing or social service field; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Valid Georgia driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must be able to work overtime as business need dictates.

- Keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to calculate rental payments using a variety of expenses and income sources to determine eligibility for Section 8 benefits.

- Ability to conduct presentations and hold one-on-one meetings.
