Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Full Time Housing Specialist to join our Housing Management Section team located at the Chickasaw Nation Housing Division Ardmore Office working .Summary:Assist in the management of units to ensure that the participants are provided with safe, decent and sanitary housing. Also, to ensure that these assigned units are maintained in good condition, that participants living in these units fulfill their responsibilities and obligations including monthly payments.Responsibilities:* Possess current knowledge of rules and regulations governing the programs* Assist in outreach: Distribute program information to encourage participation; visit other service agencies to distribute program information* Effectively resolves all complaints in a timely manner* Coordinate with other sections and other service agencies on behalf of participants* Provide follow-up counselling to participants as to the terms of any agreements and their responsibilities* Perform inspections of dwellings in a timely manner to ensure compliance with program requirements* Frequently review accounts of participants to ensure compliance with Lease Agreement* Plan, schedule, and accomplish the Section's objectives in the most economically feasible manner for the overall efficiency of the program* Process Rental applications and facilitate move in leases of the applicant* Process money orders/or cashier's checks from applicants and tenants for rent and/or security deposits and write accurate receipts* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters* Must be self-motivated* Ability to work independently* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Prioritizes, meets deadlines and works independently in a high-pressure environment and uses appropriate judgement in upward communication regarding assignments* Able to read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Knowledge of construction standards and maintenance principles* Ability to choose solutions to challenges.
