The Housing Stability Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing collaborations for housing stability and policy, systems and environmental change interventions that increase access to appropriate housing, with a focus on supporting limited-income community members throughout the three region Hackensack Meridian Health network service area. The Coordinator will develop and manage multiple housing stability initiatives focused on building partnerships that increase access to housing, housing stability, and connection to housing related services. The position contributes to local, network wide, state and national recognition of the Hackensack Meridian Health network as an essential partner in the region wide efforts to reduce housing stress and instability.

This is a hybrid position where the ideal candidate will have housing experience where you will address Social Determinants of Health. We are looking for a self-starter to grow this program.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Housing Stability Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Develop and implement housing access and availability policies and interventions that increase access to housing services in targeted populations.
  • Lead housing efforts and participate in existing housing coalitions where needed, including coordinating with community partners and working with contracted external housing advocacy partners, community-based program partners, and program participants.
  • Update and implement changes to SDOH Housing Stability program policies, practices, and materials to reflect best practices in population focused housing services program delivery.
  • Engage with program target populations via surveys, focus groups, and conversations to evaluate programs and ensure they support targeted community needs.
  • Analyze data collected for the housing stability program and generate reporting of program metrics to key stakeholders. Maintain and update project plan in support of project operations.
  • Engage across teams to ensure integration with the electronic directory of community resources.
  • Prepare reports and documents as needed or requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working in a leadership capacity with volunteers and community members.
  • Experience promoting, collecting data and preparing impact reports for a housing stability program
  • Proficiency with computer software applications such as email and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize, and use time effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully as a team member.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience working with diverse communities using a strengths-based approach
  • Knowledge and understanding of local needs, community resources, and partners.
  • Strong commitment to social and environmental justice and working towards improving housing services and availability and poverty issues.
  • Experience working effectively and sensitively with a wide range of community members.
