Qualifications
The Housing Specialist will ensure that program reporting and evaluation are completed. Housing Specialist is responsible for coordinating maintenance of all Agency owned community housing. The position accepts housing referrals determine appropriateness for community housing program and coordinate lease signing and participant move-in.
Qualifications
* HS diploma or GED plus 1 year experience in related field
* Must be at least 21 years of age or older
* Possess valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
* Prior experience in a behavioral health and residential setting
* Demonstrable theoretical knowledge in the field
* Willing to work nights and weekends as needed
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Certification in First Aid, CPR and Crisis De-escalation certification - agency will provide training if candidate does not have active certification.
* Must be knowledgeable of benefit and entitlements process and available community resources.
* Must be familiar with Landlord/Tenant Law and regulations
* Must be familiar with Fair Housing Regulations
* Must be familiar with HUDS Housing Quality Standards (HQS)
* Ability to effectively use Crisis De-escalation and behavior management techniques in crisis situations
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrates knowledge of special needs population.
* Demonstrated knowledge of referral resources available to participants
* Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping
