POSITION: HPN - Seasonal/Temps (Nov-Apr)REPORTS TO: Airport Operations SupervisorLOCATION: White Plains, New YorkAIRPORT: Westchester County AirportSummary:Perform snow removal duties on aprons, taxiways and runways. Essential characteristics of the position is the ability to safely and efficiently operate specialized severe duty snow removal equipment. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating Osh-Kosh front mounted brooms, plow trucks, snow blowers, runway de-icing equipment and heavy duty pickup trucks with plows.
- Inspect tools and equipment on a regular basis to ensure the safety of self and others. If applicable, perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools associated with assigned tasks.
- May perform a wide variety of other tasks that are necessary to maintain Airport facilities and grounds.
- May be required to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. May be exposed to hazards of the trade.
- Required to work rotating shifts and/or overtime during extended snow events.
- Part of HPN Snow Removal Team. Assist as an important team member in the coordinated removal of snow and ice from the AOA.
- Perform all other Airport related duties as required.
- Must follow all Airport, Company, TSA and FAA security and safety regulations.
- Must follow all Airport, Company, and OSHA safety regulations, including, but not limited to, Ladder/Scaffold safety, Fall Protection safety, Confined Space Entry safety, Lockout/Tagout safety, and Pesticide handling/application safety.
- High quality customer service is of critical importance.
Education and Experience Required:Graduation from a 4-year High School or Vocational School is preferred. Knowledge of hand and power tools and an equipment operator background a must. Possess 3 years' experience of progressively and responsible related skill.
