Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, the HR Administrator is primarily responsible for coordinating all centralized processes for professional and graduate adjunct employees. Act as the first point of contact for issues related to interpretation of union contract processes, contact hours, pay rate, Article X status and appointment processing. Interpret and develop procedures to meet University, federal and state employment laws guidelines, University human resources policies and the terms of various current and future collective bargaining agreements (especially, local 7902 and Local 2110). The position will assist Senior Director of Human Resources with union grievances to analyze and mitigate risks, assist with advising departments of fair labor practices and ensuring compliance with the Local 7902 and 2110 union contracts, and other union contracts as needed. This position will also assist with maintaining and analyzing data, as well as researching, testing, and implementing new policies and procedures to ensure Arts and Science follows the contractual obligations and payments for all collective bargaining agreements. This position will also assist with tracking and maintaining data for faculty, administrator, and clerical/technical populations.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field.Required Experience:3+ years of relevant professional experience in human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience in several critical areas within HR, such as recruiting, compensation, employee/labor relations, training/development, and/or HR administration and processing.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent organizational, problem solving and customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Excellent organizational, problem solving and computer/technical skills. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to a diverse employee population and to supervise work processes and staff. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications and strong knowledge of database applications.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
