Job Description:

Job Title: HR Data Analyst

Duration: 3-month contract with extension

Location: REMOTE

Pay rate: $50/hr to $65/hr (depend on experience)

Roles and responsibilities:

As an HR Analytics & Data Insights Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and presenting employee data to enhance workforce decision-making in innovative ways that drive business performance and growth. You will work closely with HR partners and business stakeholders to identify key challenges, develop analysis plans, and translate findings into actionable insights.

Your work will span all stages of the talent lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruiting, career development, diversity and inclusion, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, culture, and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Partner with HR and cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Marketing, M&A) to understand business needs and deliver actionable HR analytics projects.
  • Workday Reporting: Develop and maintain custom reports in Workday to support analytics initiatives and stakeholder needs.
  • Dashboard Creation: Design and enhance Power BI dashboards using best practices in data visualization to deliver key insights.
  • Data Management: Develop a deep understanding of HR data sources, ensuring data quality and integrity for ongoing analysis and reporting.
  • Recurring Deliverables: Maintain and improve periodic reports, including Employer of Choice reporting, Talent Acquisition Staffing Models, and Monthly Business Review materials.
  • Data Preparation: Stage, clean, transform, and model data for analysis (data wrangling).
  • Analytics: Identify workforce trends and correlations in key HR metrics through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Predictive Analytics: Use predictive and prescriptive techniques to proactively identify workforce challenges and opportunities.
  • Data Storytelling: Translate complex data into compelling stories and deliver presentations to HR partners, senior leaders, and other non-experts.
  • Industry Trends: Stay current with emerging trends in HR analytics, recommending new tools and techniques to elevate the team's capabilities.

Candidate Summary:

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in data analytics, particularly in HR analytics or related fields.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio, Qlik, or Tableau.
  • Strong skills in storytelling and presentation, with the ability to communicate complex data insights to senior leadership and non-experts, both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills, with a passion for data analysis and driving meaningful business outcomes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and an understanding of data security/privacy protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (e.g., PivotTables, Vlookup).

  • Experience with building and optimizing data warehouses, pipelines, and models, especially with Google BigQuery.
  • Experience with advanced Workday Analytics tools (Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Prism, Benchmarking).

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
