Job DetailsLevel Experienced Job Location Los Angeles - Burbank, CA Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $28.50 - $28.50 Hourly Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Any Job Category Education Description POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to organize and process bi-weekly payroll for all our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance, combined with excellent numerical and organizational skills. You will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, handle payroll-related inquiries, and contribute to maintaining accurate payroll records. Job Description
  • Administer biweekly payroll for all Los Angeles, New York, Florida employees and 1099 contractors.
  • Perform time punch corrections and calculate retro payments.
  • Update payroll cross-checks and issue semester contracts.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and quarterly tax reports.
  • Calculate and issue all faculty contracts, and conduct contract audits.
  • Maintain 401(k) updates, loans, and benefit deduction audits.
  • Assist with various benefit-related tasks.
  • Update HRIS as needed and maintain accurate personnel files.
  • Work closely with the Finance team on special projects, including financial analysis and budget planning.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of employee information and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned
QualificationsKnowledge and Competencies:
  • Experience working with HRIS (Paycom required)
  • Experience with Google Suite, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Must have experience, abilities, and skills to set up and maintain spreadsheets and troubleshoot.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in an environment in which constant deadlines exist.
  • Ability to problem-solve and reconcile accounts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Experience, Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
