About the role: The HR Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing and administering the company's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of benefits regulations and industry trends. Duties and responsibilities of the job include the following (but is not limited too):
  • Manage enrollment, changes, and terminations of employee benefits plans, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. - Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA. - Coordinate annual open enrollment processes, including preparing communication materials, hosting informational sessions, and assisting employees with enrollment decisions. - Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure the integrity of data within the HRIS system. Employee Communication and Support:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues, providing assistance and resolution in a timely manner.
    • Educate employees on available benefits options, coverage details, and enrollment procedures.
    • Develop and distribute clear communication materials to inform employees of plan changes, new offerings, and other relevant information.
    Vendor Management:
    • Collaborate with benefits providers to negotiate plan options, renewals, and cost-effective solutions for employees and the company.
    • Monitor vendor performance and address any service issues or concerns.
    Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze reports on benefits usage, costs, and trends to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvements.
    • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new benefits programs based on industry trends and employee feedback.
    Compliance and Recordkeeping:
    • Ensure all benefits programs comply with applicable laws and regulations, including filing required documentation and maintaining up-to-date records.
    • Coordinate audits of benefits programs as necessary.
Preferred experience, education, and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in benefits administration or a similar HR role.
  • Strong understanding of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Perform quality work within determined timeframes
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, vendors and shareholders
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, divisions, etc.
  • Work on ad-hoc tasks, assignments and projects as needed
Potential Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 annually This salary range only reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law.
