PitchBook's Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides broad Human Resources (HR) support to our New York office and works in partnership with the global People team to manage and support initiatives and projects. This role works with local leaders on team engagement, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and coaching. In addition, this role also supports PitchBook's global new hire orientation and talent management programs. PitchBook's HR Business Partner contributes to the broader People Team on department projects and initiatives that positively impact the employee experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner and support leaders in our New York office to develop HR strategies to support business goals
  • Successfully coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations and serve as primary point of contact for managers on determining resolutions for a wide range of people-related issues
  • Deliver New Hire Orientation and oversee first-day new hire activities in partnership with Employee Engagement, PitchBook HR, Hiring Managers, and Facilities
  • Partner with HRBPs on projects that positively impact the employee journey including quarterly conversations and talent management programs
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage the separation process, following up with managers on feedback and action items
  • Act as the primary contact for New York employees on PitchBook's leave of absence programs, partnering with HR Operations and Payroll to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Partner with HRBPs, HR Operations and other stakeholders to support PitchBook's mobility and visa processes for domestic and international transfers
  • Assist in coordinating engaging office events that support PitchBook's culture in partnership with Employee Engagement and Facilities
  • In partnership with the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Allyship) Business Partner, assist in coordinating and/or delivering engaging development opportunities that support the culture of PitchBook
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws in all employee-related practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, ADA and related SOX compliance areas
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Professional certifications (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, etc.) are a bonus
  • 7+ years of progressive responsibility in HR roles including demonstrated competence in HR processes, benefits administration, employee relations, HR data analysis, HR compliance, HR tools, and employee communication
  • Superior knowledge of US employment law including state specific NY laws
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills and identify and drive appropriate solutions, translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple, customer-focused, and adaptable to unique and changing business needs
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and ownership to resolve issues
  • Ability to operate independently, using sound judgment to make decisions
  • Process-oriented, organized, and metrics-driven with amazing attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present material to groups in-person and via the phone
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily. Previous experience with Workday is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $120,000-$140,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
