  • The HR Business Partner assists the Human Resources Director with general human resources matters including administrative tasks, benefits, recruiting, front desk support and HR Generalist duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with ensuring effective resolution of workplace disputes and conflicts as requested by the Director of Human Resources.
  • Assists the Benefits Manager with all aspects of benefits administration as requested.
  • Assists with all aspects with new employee orientation as needed.
  • Assists with the exit interview process, unemployed hearings and appeals as required.
  • Oversees tuition reimbursement program including tracking, payments, responding to employee questions, and interacting with them regarding course curriculum and grades.
  • Assists with oversight on recruitment and retention initiatives within the organization.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to the Director of Human Resources to effect continual improvement of department efficiency and in services provided.
  • Backs up the front desk on tasks including, but not limited to, badge printing, employment verifications, and assisting employees and other walk-ins as they arrive.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or relevant degree required. Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or Business Administration desired.
Work Experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively more advanced human resources or Human Resources generalist in addition to a minimum of three (3) years of previous direct supervisory experience preferred.
  • Desirable Skills/Experience in: Microsoft Suite, HR Software, Recruitment and Onboarding. Critical thinking and creative problem solving. Proven team player with excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Certification/License
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Mental/Physical Requirements
  • Independent body mobility to access a standard office environment; vision sufficient to read a computer screen, manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis; stamina to sit for up to one hour at a time; transport, lift or carry materials (sometimes voluminous and weighing up to 15 pounds); and speak and hear sufficiently to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone. Mental stamina for problem solving and dealing with stressful situations; prioritizing multiple tasks, interpret and apply oral/written instructions. Some travel required.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office conditions. Frequent interruptions. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously as well as stressful situations.
